Know Your Risk.
Optimize Your Health.
Live Your Best Life.

At the MHA Spot, we teach women who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) to understand their risks and optimize their physical and mental health, so they can live their best lives, raise healthy children, and break the cycle.

Ready to Get Your Physical And Mental Health Back?

Hi and welcome to the MHA Spot™! We're a team of mental health experts and we help busy women who have experienced adverse childhood experiences (such as parental divorce or separation; various forms of abuse; neglect; addiction or incarceration of a family member, and more) to identify and address the health concerns they're at risk for as a result of having experienced those adversities so they can finally get back to living.

Most of the women who come to our site end up here for one of three reasons:

  • They've experienced ACEs and they have also been diagnosed with one of the four major categories of chronic health concerns that those who have experienced ACEs are at increased risk for, including mental health concerns (e.g. anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD), autoimmune disease (e.g. lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, Crohn's disease), reproductive concerns (e.g. fertility problems and irregular menstrual cycles), and metabolic concerns (e.g. obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease), and they want to help themselves.
  • They have a friend or a family member who has experienced ACEs and has been diagnosed with one of those health concerns and they want to help them.
  • They want to break the cycle of ACEs in their own lives so that they can provide a better life and better opportunities for their children

If one OR MORE of these THREE scenarios describes you, we at the MHA Spot can help.

You've come to the right place. Although experiencing ACEs does in fact increase risk for a variety of health concerns including mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and suicide risk; autoimmune conditions like Hashimoto's thyroiditis, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis; cardiovascular disease; and reproductive concerns, we specialize in helping women who have experienced adversities during childhood decrease their overall risk and address these health concerns by uncovering the underlying or root cause and working with their bodies instead of against them.

We specialize in helping women just like you reach their wellness goals so they can get back to living life on their own terms. We want to help you regain your freedom—freedom from apprehension, depression, fear, and side-effects—and overcome the barriers that are holding you back from becoming the person you were meant to be. Through empowering you to take ownership of your own health, we're committed to helping you live up to the potential that we and others see in you.

What are People Saying About Our Work?

"...Personally, I have struggled with anxiety and sleep related problems most of my adult life and while I have been on pharmaceutical drugs for those issues, they were still not fully controlled. What I came to realize was missing, was the link between traditional medicine and integrative medicine and I found that with Dr. Louis.

"By integrating her holistic approach into my care, I am now essentially free from daily anxiety and my sleep has improved dramatically. Her breadth of knowledge is impressive; not only of more natural options, but also regarding traditional pharmaceuticals and how they impact the body..."

Carolyn M.

"I can’t say enough about this practice. Dr. Louis identified a long term condition that enabled me to get off an RX that I had been on for years! I was VERY hesitant; I probably spoke to Jeff ... at least 3 different times for a total of 75 minutes before I pulled the trigger … peppering him with questions about the different plans, what if it doesn’t work, sharing that I felt like I had tried everything with no results … he was confident they could help, and he was right. Bottom line: best time and money I’ve ever spent. Save yourself the research, skepticism, etc – and just get in there…"

Did you know that experiencing adverse events during childhood literally changes our brains and makes it far more likely that we will develop a variety of different mental and physical health concerns during our adult lives? Research shows that we carry this increased risk with us into adulthood whether we continue to experience adverse events after age 18 or not. There are things that you can do to reduce this risk, but the first step is understanding how your past experiences shaped your present state of health. Then you can take the necessary steps to reduce your risk so that you can enjoy better health and have more time to spend with the people and things you love.
